THORNAFIRE started out in 1998 by the hand of Víctor Mac-Namara with the unique idea of playing Death Metal. One year later two songs were

recorded to be their first demo called "Granded for all Somberness". With that tape and a savage live show the band started to achieve a strong name
in the local scene.
After some line-up changes, an MCD entitled “Mortus Tenebrae Surrectus” was released in 2001 and received many good reviews from the local and
international metal media and with that THORNAFIRE became one of the most promising Chilean extreme metal acts.
This MCD contains six songs of annihilating Death Metal. It was distributed all over Chile as well as many trades were done with several labels and
bands from South America, the USA and Europe.
In early 2003 a tour through the North of Chile and Bolivia was booked. Then a show with Czech’s Pandemia in Santiago and further gigs in the South
of the country. To finish that year, more shows were played abroad … this time in Argentina.
In the middle of 2005 the band recorded their debut LP “Exacerbated Gnostic Manifestation”, this record was a milestone in brutality, a masterpiece of
Ibex Moon Records, the label created by INCANTATION mastermind John McEntee, signed THORNAFIRE. The band's full-length debut "Exacerbated
Gnostic Manifestation" was released in April 2007 through RED Distribution.
On July 21st, 2009 THORNAFIRE released "Vorex Deconstrucción" through Ibex Moon Records. The act has captured the true spirit of a Southern
American Death Metal style that worships at the altar of the ancient ones and takes its cues from bands like MORBID ANGEL, KRISIUN, (early)
SEPULTURA, and PENTAGRAM (Chile), while putting its own unique spin on the genre.
In July 2010 THORNAFIRE made their first tour through Europe, appearing in Austria, Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Obscene Extreme Festival
sharing stage with INCANTATION, MASTER, DERANGED among others.
On June 2nd, 2011, THORNAFIRE had the distinct honor of warming up the stage for almighty SLAYER when the thrash titans brought their World
Painted Blood Tour to South America. Understandably, the band is marking this occasion as a huge moment in their career.
Next was another tour through Argentina in November 2011.
After two years in the process the band’s third album “Eclipse Nox Coagula” was recorded between January and April 2012. With this release the band
did a new extense tour releasing their darkest southern Death Metal assault over european festivals and sharing stage with LEGION OF THE
DAMNED, MÖTLEY CRÜE, OVERKILL, DIMMU BORGIR among others.
On April of 2013, THORNAFIRE was signed under the banner of FDA Rekotz from Germany and started to record in February of 2014 their new album
called “Magnaa” in three different studios, Sade studios, Kutre Ñuke, both from Chile and Soundlodge studios from Germany with Jörg Uken producer
from bands like GOD DETHRONED, DEW SCENTED, SINISTER among many others killer acts. The CD was released in September 26th getting
amazing reviews in great media monsters such as LEGACY, ROCK HARD, VOICES FROM THE DARK SIDE among others.
Following this release the band did their third tour over Europe in Autumn/October of 2014 displaying the fury of “Magnaa” album in clubs plus some
festival and sharing stage with acts such as SODOM, MILKING THE GOATMACHINE, BURDEN OF GRIEF with a successful response in every corner
in Germany and France.
On June of 2015 the band release their first live album “LIVE IN BERLIN” showing up their furious live set in the German main city.
In August 2016 the band did their 4th European tour sharing stage with VENOM Inc, TAAKE, THE MONOLITH DEATH CULT among others and
performing in new interesting metal places such as Irleand and U.K.
In 2018 the band did their 5th European Tour taking two months and traveling all over Europe sharing stage with acts like DEATH ANGEL, VADER,
HOLY MOSES, GRAVE likewise starting since June 2017 their tentatively called “Makinæ Genitalia” new opus which alludes to a genetically crazy
Through 20 years of tribulation against the odds, this southamerican underground project has avoided many fucking trends and remains independent in
these days of plastic wrapped utopia.
